This "Paidaretos" may be identified with the
Pedaritos who fell at Chios in 411.
If so, then this Teleutia is the wife of Leon and mother of Antalkidas.

Poralla 689; Diodorus XV 21a; Plutarch Agesilaus 21b; Thucydides VIII 6c; Xenophon Hellenica IV 4.19d, 8.11e, 8.23-25f, V 1.13-24g, 2.37-3.6h
Stepbrother of King Agesilaos II and Kyniska,
probably from a marriage, after the death of Archidamos II, between Eupolia and
Theodorosbd. Around 392 Teleutias together with
Agesilaos destroyed the wall of Lechaiond. Afterwards
he was occupied in the sea war. Did he hold three nauarchies? According to
Xenophone Teleutias came to the fleet, which
Herippidas (after the nauarch Podanemos was killed) took over and most likely T.
was appointed then as nauarch. Then sometime in 390 Teleutias took over the fleet
of the nauarch Ekdikos, was then for a long time busy in Rhodes and turned past
Aigina back homef. In both cases we see that Teleutias
entered into the position of nauarch and occupied it for a long time. Since there
was no other sea campaign we must either conclude that Teleutias was nauarch or
that the nauarch did not command the fleet in the area of operations (which by
Lacedaemonian custom is certainly possiblec). During
his third nauarchy Teleutias was harassed at Aigina from Athensg. In summer 382 he marched to Chalkidike, where in
spring 381 he was defeated and killed by the Olynthiansah.

A Spartiate from the Laconian Aphidna.
Son of Archembrotos.
Poet of elegies and general of the Spartans in the Second Messenian Warfg.
The tradition reveals a controversy about the
nationality of Tyrtaeus. One of the sources of Strabo, however, to which we owe
the best information about the Messenian war, and which itself goes back to the
poetry of Tyrtaeus, knows Tyrtaeus only as a Spartiate and general. Suidasg found a notice in a source Lavkwn h] Milhvsio". The
latter is easily understood. The oldest practising poets in Sparta came from Asia
Minor. After the abortive effort of Athens in the Third Messenian War, a tradition
was invented that Tyrtaeus was an Athenian, whom the Spartans had asked for as
general and poet of war songs. (It should be mentioned that there is also an
Athenian locale called Aphidna.)ef We find this
tradition first in Platod. It was then spread through
those friendly to Athens: Philochorosa, Ephorosb, and Kallisthenesf. The
invented epic then took a grotesque form: Tyrtaeus became a lame school mastercg.
